Sample data was used to protect privacy.
Small teams often run critical tasks and operations inside Excel, making accuracy a non-negotiable.But as files grow...formulas break, reporting time increases, and small changes cause big problems.
8-person consulting team
Did not want to adopt a CRM or introduce new software
Deals
Revenue
Rep Performance
Weekly Reporting
2-3 hours of manual reporting every week
Summary tables and charts built from fragile formulas
Total formulas broke when rows were edited (add/delete)
Duplicated calculations across sheets (manual errors)
Inconsistent reporting between sales reps
"We manually copy data into a summary tab every Friday. Formulas keep breaking when someone edits rows."

The client uploaded:
Their existing Weekly Sales Tracker (.xlsx)
A short explanation of their issues
Their desired outcome
Goal: Reduce manual reporting and stabilize the workload
After the audit, the workbook was rebuilt with a clear system and structure:

Converting raw data ranges into structured Excel tables
Simplifying formulas so totals update automatically
Eliminating duplicate calculations across sheets
Automating summary metrics and dashboards
Adding validation rules for consistent data entry
Protecting formula columns to prevent breakage
Primary deal data is entered once and powers all reporting.

Hiding all grey columns allows the team to see exactly what needs input.

Client data is maintained in one place to prevent duplicate entry and mismatches

Rep targets, commission rates, and performance metrics are centralized and calculated automatically.

Reference tables power dropdowns, stage rules, and consistent data entry across the workbook.

Leadership can review performance instantly without rebuilding reports.

2-3 hours of weekly reporting
Manual summary building
Formulas frequently breaking
Inconsistent totals
20-30 minutes weekly update
Revenue summaries fully automated
Stable formulas protected from accidental edits
Clear reporting for leadership
